During a shooting incident at a White House Correspondents' Association dinner at the White House, a man has gained attention online for calmly enjoying his meal despite the chaos.
On the evening of the 25th at the Washington Hilton Hotel in Washington, DC, an incident occurred where Kyle Thomas Allen (31) fired shots at a Secret Service agent before being subdued on the scene.
Although the shooter did not enter the dinner hall, attendees including President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance had to evacuate due to the threat of gunfire.
The scene was broadcast live on CNN, showing a man calmly eating a Burrata cheese salad while others evacuated. The man, identified as Michael Glantz, a top agent at the Creative Artists Agency (CAA), became a viral sensation online.
In an interview with the New York Times, Glantz explained his actions, stating, "I'm a New Yorker. I always live amidst sirens and chaos. I wasn't scared. I just wanted to watch the hundreds of Secret Service agents jumping over tables and chairs."
When asked about why he didn't take cover like others, Glantz responded, "Firstly, I have a bad back and can't sit on the floor. I would need help getting back up. Secondly, I'm very particular about hygiene. I can't sit on a dirty floor and wear a new tuxedo."
