CJ Group announced on the 25th that it plans to hire 13,000 new employees and invest 4.2 trillion won in domestic business over the next three years.
The decision was made to participate in the government's youth employment creation and national balanced development policy.
CJ will continue its policy of expanding youth employment. Despite the trend among domestic companies to switch to unscheduled recruitment due to increased business uncertainty after COVID-19, CJ has maintained its open recruitment system for new employees. Last year, 71% of new employees were under 34, showing its commitment to youth employment. The group plans to expand its new employee recruitment target by over 20% compared to last year.
The proportion of youth employment among all new recruits has exceeded 70% for the third consecutive year. This has led to various businesses leading global K-trends such as beauty and content loved by young people, including CJ Olive Young and CJ ENM.
In particular, CJ Olive Young hired nearly 1,000 new employees last year, increasing employment nationwide along with expanding the K-beauty market. According to an analysis of National Pension subscribers among the top 500 companies based on revenue, CJ Olive Young ranked first in terms of the number of new subscribers.
CJ Group also announced a plan to invest 4.2 trillion won in domestic business over the next three years. This year, the domestic investment, including the expansion of regional production and logistics hubs, will be increased by 45% to 1.5 trillion won compared to last year. Over the next three years, a total of 4.2 trillion won will be invested, strengthening investments in regions outside the capital area.
The pace of local investments will also be accelerated. CJ has been working to create local jobs by operating large-scale infrastructure such as CJ Blossom Campus, the largest food factory in Korea, and CJ Logistics Hub Terminal in Jincheon-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do. This year, they will continue to expand food production facilities, secure logistics strategic hubs, and open new stores.
A CJ Group official stated, "Based on Chairman Lee Jae-hyun's management philosophy that 'companies should become dream builders for young people,' we have been committed to creating high-quality jobs and solving youth unemployment." They also expressed their commitment to nurturing talent that can contribute to enhancing global competitiveness in K-contents, food, and beauty industries, and leading a corporate culture that encourages continuous challenges.
