Korean companies aiming to supply AI technology in the global medical market took their first steps towards overseas expansion by participating in the world's largest healthcare IT event, the Global Healthcare Information Management Systems Conference and Exhibition (HIMSS 2026).

For the first time targeting the overseas market, they set up HIMSS exhibition booths and expanded their networks with global healthcare professionals.

Korean medical video analysis company MTEG and medical welfare platform company Safedoc participated in HIMSS 2026 from September 9th to 12th (local time) at the Venetian Convention and Expo in Las Vegas, USA, igniting their overseas business expansion.

MTEG introduced 'VACS.ai', an AI solution that automates surgery records such as anesthesia records, surgical instrument usage flow, and treatment processes that medical staff currently have to record manually.

The core of this solution is the technology to automatically organize medical action data by analyzing surgical images. Based on the technology to process surgery images containing complex medical actions into data, it has been supplied to about 20 hospitals including domestic tertiary general hospitals. They are currently in discussions for supplying the solution to hospitals in the United States.

Kim Deok-seok, CEO of MTEG, said, "We participated in the HIMSS exhibition for the first time to expand product supply to overseas markets," and added, "We are expecting meaningful results in our overseas business this year."

Safedoc, participating in HIMSS for the first time, focused on finding partners to spread the competitiveness of Korean medical services as a welfare and wellness model suitable for the US market. After the event, they will move to California and San Francisco to continue networking and business expansion activities locally.

Safedoc currently collaborates with over 500 medical institutions nationwide in 15 departments such as ophthalmology, dentistry, and dermatology, and works with around 4,000 companies. It is a medical welfare service model targeting corporate employees beyond a simple B2C medical reservation platform.

They plan to expand the verified Korean corporate welfare healthcare model to overseas and expand it into a business structure that connects US companies, insurance, and communities.

Lee Ye-sol, CEO of Safedoc, said, "During this exhibition, we discussed collaboration possibilities focusing on providing medical welfare benefits to numerous companies and US corporate employees," and added, "We will soon finalize the establishment of a US corporation and continue to play a role as a global platform for the expansion of Korean medical services based on local activities."
